IN THE HEART OF THE COUNTY DURHAM COUNTRYSIDE

line.png

The County Durham Village of Shield Row is the setting for our thriving school.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, where red kites soar in the sky above, Shield Row Primary School is where 200+ pupils come to learn, grow and play in a secure, friendly and caring environment.

Catering from nursery to Year 6, our modern, fully-equipped school  and expansive, well-maintained sports grounds are unique to the area.

The school is easily accessible by road and public transport, although many pupils arrive via the much loved Sustrans coast to coast path, which provides the opportunity to cycle or walk to school safely and away from busy roads while enjoying the nature and countryside en-route.

School grounds are regularly maintained, spacious, secure and a great place for children to enjoy features such as the full-size athletics track, well-equipped playground, raised beds for growing, dedicated reading area, football pitch and gym.

Our school building is fully renovated and energy saving with new windows and roof.
