Year 6 marks the pupils’ final year at Shield Row Primary School and the children are abuzz with all the possibilities that the future holds. The work is intense and the children relish the challenge. For the staff, their moving on is a bitter sweet time, having come to know, as we do, each child as the unique individual that they are. In the final year at Shield Row we will study Crime and Punishment, including whilst reading the novel 'Holes', we will explore The Grand Canyon and find out about life in WW2 when reading 'Letters from a Lighthouse'.
The hard work is paid off when the children embark on a residential visit to create their own adventure story. This can prove to be an enlightening experience for many children as they create memories that will stay with them forever.
